[Applejack is back from her mission! And as much as she's tuckered out, she's happy to be home and makes her rounds to her various friends to let them know she's back. And also to make sure that Winona hasn't gone too crazy.

It isn't until she's back home that night and settling down that realization dawns and she can't help but laugh.]

Tarnation. Ah missed my own birthday, goin' ta help out the Malnosso. That musta taken longer than Ah realized.

But that means it's gettin' close ta Nightmare Night! An' that means the pumpkins are comin' in. It's not much of a pumpkin patch, but if anyone's wantin' ta come on by the farm an' pick one up, they'll make mighty fine jack-o-lanterns. [Soft chuckle.] Or pies, if that's what you're aimin' for.

[Pause. That has just reminded her...]

Gol-ly. Already closin' in on time for makin' cider, too. Would anyone mind lendin' a hoof with makin' cider? Ah promise it's well worth the work.

So when do you plan on making the cider?

Prob'ly in a week or so. Best ta have it all ready 'fore it starts gettin' too cold, after all. Ah think Ah wanna try ta have one batch ready before Nightmare Night.

And, if you don't mind my asking, what's Nightmare Night?

Nightmare Night's a holiday of ours back home, where we gather up candy an' offer up some of it ta Night Mare Moon. We dress up in costumes an' play tricks ta scare one another. All of it's supposed ta keep her from eatin' everypony.

[Here she pauses, looking a little sheepish.] It's an old pony's tale, really, since Princess Luna's on the side of good again. But it's still a lotta fun dressin' up and scarin' everypony.

Ah, so its sort of like Earth's Halloween. A festival for the darker, scarier side of things then?

Halloween! That's what Ah heard. Sounds just like Nightmare Night back home. Ya hit it right on the head, Luke.

Good to know. I know that Halloween is coming soon. The end of the month, I believe.

Yeeup! Right at the end of the month. An' it looks like we'll even have an almost-full moon for it, too. Oughta be a real lotta fun.

Do ya have anythin' like Nightmare Night or Halloween where you come from?

Not really, no. There aren't many holidays that span the entire galaxy, but there are lots of local festivals on different planets like that.

So this will be my first Halloween, or Nightmare Night.
