[It's been raining for days and Applejack is getting bored. She found the farm not too long after she arrived, and the rain wasn't exactly stopping her from tending to everything, but the weather's turn for the worse today is definitely an impediment. And so, she's cooped up inside, running out of things to do. But hey, that's what this journal is here for, right?]

How come nopony told me 'bout this farm y'all got here? This is great! It just needs some more apple trees and it'll be just like home. Or... well, as close as Ah can get it. But that reminds me...

Have any of y'all ever heard'a zap apples? They're magic, but they're downright tasty an' real particular 'bout how they're grown an' harvested. Mah Granny Smith's the one who normally makes all the jam an' such, but if Ah can grow some zap apples here, Ah'd sure be happy ta share whatever Ah can make. Might not be quite as good, but Ah think Ah've picked up a thing'er two. Anypony got any ideas?

[It's something to think about, at least! Something that isn't baking more apple fritters, in any case.]

[AJ shakes her head amusedly, chuckling under her breath as Pinkie goes on. It's so good to have her friend back.]

But I'm just happy to see everypony again. When those walls came up and separated all of us, I was really worried.

Discord was a pretty tough customer, but we came through it just fine in the end. [Although it was real ugly for a while there. She's still glad Twilight was able to snap them all out of it.]

Nothin' the six of us can't handle. [Oops, wait. Spike helped a lot too.] Well... seven.

I hope we didn't beat him too badly. He wasn't so bad of a guy.

[Her hopping slows down to a normal walk.]

Anypony who thinks chocolate rain is a good idea is okay in my book.

He pulled some pretty terrible pranks on all of us, but... the chocolate rain at least wasn't too bad.

[But it took forever to clean up around the farm.]

Ah wish he'd left the crops alone, though.

[She snorts, grinning hard to suppress another giggle fit.]

But what is the farm here like? Oodles and boodles and moodles of apple trees?

There ain't too much to it just yet, but Ah'm workin' on it. Mostly just fields so far. Nopony's been payin' too much attention to it 'til now.

[This would probably upset her more were it not for the fact that this gives her plenty of work to dive into as a distraction from. Well. Pretty much everything else about this place. But this keeps her mind off being away from home, at least.]

Me an' Winona have been workin' on it a couple weeks now, but it's still got a looong way ta go.

Ooh ooh! Applejack! Let me help! Gummy and me can go looking for all sorts of yummy foods for us to grow! Maybe even foods we can make into sweets~!

[She's practically squealing with excitement.]

[Pinkie, you really are the best kind of friend.]

Thanks, Pinkie. Ah sure would appreciate any help you can spare. There's a lotta space ta fill up.

Of course, Applejack, what are friends for? With you and me working together, that farm'll be Pinkie-keen in no time!

[She laughs.] Good thing, too. Ain't the same without so many crops growin'!

Now we just need to figure out what to grow! Any ideas, Applejack?

Well, Ah'm definitely gonna wanna plant some more apple trees. Could probably use some carrots an' corn, too. Maybe a few cherry trees...

[So much to plant!]

Ooh, did you say cherry trees? I actually had this idea for a new sweetie-treat that I want to try. It's mashed up cherries inside a tortilla that's deep-fried. I call it a cherrychonga [...] or maybe chimicherry. What do you think, Applejack?

[Oh no, not this again.]

Ah dunno, Pinkie. Maybe chimicherry?

[Pinkie snorts, giggling.]

Do you think so? I wasn't sure if it was funny enough~. It's just not sweet enough if it doesn't tickle your funny bone while it tickles your taste buds! But I'm sure we'll have time to come up with all sorts of silly names for the delicious food we're gonna grow!

[Hoo boy, they're probably in for it later with the chimicherry/cherrychonga debate.]

You're right, we'll have plenty'a time. 'Specially while it's all still growin'.

[Just about at the farm! The cottage is starting to come into focus. Winona races on ahead, barking and prancing around as she does so.]

Ohmygosh, it looks so pretty!

[She hops with glee.]

I can't believe nopony was taking care of it before you came along.

Ain't it? Ah can't believe it either. Ah guess everypony just prefers stayin' in the village.

[Why they would leave a farm like this all alone is beyond her, but hey.]

The village sure is neat. I can't wait to see more of it. But... it doesn't seem very much like Ponyville.

It's real different. The hue-mans are pretty nice an' all, but there ain't as many stalls set up ta sell stuff or as many parties.

[She grins at Pinkie as she nudges the cottage door open. Winona shakes herself off and runs on inside.]

'Course, the party problem's as good as fixed with you here now.

[She snorts.]

Don't tell me you tried to throw a party without me!

[She giggles. There's no way it was as good as one she can throw!]

Nah. Wouldn't've been the same without ya.

[Although if she'd started to plan one, that would have served as a Pinkie Signal to summon her, she's sure.]
