[It's been raining for days and Applejack is getting bored. She found the farm not too long after she arrived, and the rain wasn't exactly stopping her from tending to everything, but the weather's turn for the worse today is definitely an impediment. And so, she's cooped up inside, running out of things to do. But hey, that's what this journal is here for, right?]

How come nopony told me 'bout this farm y'all got here? This is great! It just needs some more apple trees and it'll be just like home. Or... well, as close as Ah can get it. But that reminds me...

Have any of y'all ever heard'a zap apples? They're magic, but they're downright tasty an' real particular 'bout how they're grown an' harvested. Mah Granny Smith's the one who normally makes all the jam an' such, but if Ah can grow some zap apples here, Ah'd sure be happy ta share whatever Ah can make. Might not be quite as good, but Ah think Ah've picked up a thing'er two. Anypony got any ideas?

[It's something to think about, at least! Something that isn't baking more apple fritters, in any case.]

Well... There's Rainbow Dash, you'll probably run inta her flyin' around all over the place. Fluttershy's real shy, but she's bound ta be wherever there's the most critters ta look after. Princess Luna Ah don't know too well, but she's taller than the rest of us, can't miss her. Rarity's workin' in a fashion shop the last Ah heard, but Ah ain't found her just yet. An' then Pinkie Pie just got here, but trust me, she'll find ya sooner or later an' introduce herself.

That's so awesome. I mean, I heard this place isn't that great, but it must be nice to have your friends here with you. I mean, I'm pretty lucky to have my friends here to help me adjust, ya know?

Exactly. Ah'm real lucky so many good friends are here ta help. Good ta hear you're not here alone either, Kitty.

Yeah! And I, like, can't wait to meet your friends too. If you ever see a blue guy name Kurt, a girl with white streaks in her hair name Rogue, and a guy who's always wearing glasses name Scott? Those are my friends. [Gambit, not included.]

[Who needs a snarky Cajun anyway.] Ah'll keep my eye out for 'em. Is Rogue the one workin' in the item shop?

[All hue-mans look vaguely the same to her, sue her. Stripes in hair stands out, at least.]
